Michelle Muff, MA, LMFT
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Since 1991, I’ve worked with families and individuals to help them overcome the difficulties and challenges of modern life. As someone who lives with a sense of Christian purpose, I believe that to be fully healed you need to sit on the lap of God and be loved.
I pride myself on being honest, authentic, genuine, optimistic and future-minded – qualities that I bring to work every single day and give of myself to you during your journey.
My therapeutic approach is providing support and practical feedback that effectively addresses the personal life challenges you may be facing. I provide CBT, DBT, Solutions Focused therapy. With compassion and understanding, I work with you to help build on your strengths and attain the personal growth that you wish to accomplish.
I Help You Heal by Treating Your Body, Mind and Soul
During therapy sessions I help you learn to love and nourish your body, mind and soul through proper sleep, diet, exercise and creating healthy thought patterns. These may seem obvious, but they’re often the first – and easiest – things to neglect in today’s demanding world. I take you on a journey where you learn to forgive yourself and receive the love of God so that you can share that love with others.
I Believe That You Can Get Through Your Current Pain – and be Stronger Because of it
If today’s doom and gloom is clouding your vision and hope in the future, I teach you how to find gratitude in daily life, so that you too can be amazed at the gifts of love, life and happiness. I have seen the miracles that God has done in my life and I know his saving grace. I’m here to help you find his grace too.
My Story
On August 26, 2003, I stood in the ER looking at the face of a doctor who had just told me that my 3-year-old daughter had a 50/50 chance of living. This couldn’t be happening to me, could it? But it was. My daughter had been diagnosed with Meningococcal septicemia – a rare and fatal blood disease.
Over the next two weeks, I watched my daughter turn purple as her blood vessels burst. She could’ve lost her arms or legs. People from all over the world prayed. She now is a senior at the University of Saint Thomas Saint Paul MN, and will graduate with a degree in biology and pre-med.
The love of God and grace carried me through. I can help you find it too.
I Teach You the Skills to Remain Positive and Hopeful
Forgiveness may feel impossible, or your pain so strong that you cannot picture a life without it, but your story matters. I help you find your worth, increase your self-compassion and in the process find more joy, energy and motivation for your life. Let me help you to find in the dark the truth and light that God wants you to see.
